{"id":40,"date":"2024-12-28T15:38:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-28T15:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alandix.com\/creativity\/?page_id=40"},"modified":"2024-12-31T18:45:39","modified_gmt":"2024-12-31T18:45:39","slug":"5-deconstruction-reconstruction","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/alandix.com\/creativity\/topics\/5-deconstruction-reconstruction\/","title":{"rendered":"5 \u2013 Deconstruction\/reconstruction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is reasonably easy to see how being analytic about an interaction object, such as a menu, may help us understand the different kinds of menus and hence create a novel one suited for a special purpose.\u00a0 However, it is not so immediately obvious how this might apply to experience.<\/p>\n<p>In this lesson we will see that in fact there is a long tradition of analytic approaches in art.\u00a0 You will learn to deconstruct the experiential elements of a situation and in so doing be in a position to reconstruct them in a different way to create parallel digital experiences.\u00a0 We will use a case study of the creation of virtual Christmas crackers as a driving example, and also see a structured technique using the same principles was used to train engineers at IBM.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>5.1 \u00a0Deconstructing Aesthetic Experience<\/h1>\n<p>Surely only an utter Philistine would desecrate an artistic experience by analysing it.\u00a0 In fact, literary and artistic critics do this all the time, and poets and artists often analyse their own work in order to improve it.\u00a0 In this section we will see how deconstructing and aesthetic item can be used to help reconstruct a new one.<\/p>\n<p>Errata (for video):\u00a0 I mentioned Dylan Thomas identifying a form of poetry;
