UX Meetup in Indonesia
I’ll be talking abut Deep Digitality and Digital thinking at UX Indonesia Meetup on Friday 8th May.
deep digitality meets digital thinking
The deep digitality fashion case study has always been problematic. On the one hand it is clearly a radical re-imagining of the fashion industry inspired by the digital, but on the other hand it seems to hardly use digital technology. There seems to be a pattern of mind, a form of digital thinking at work.
In a series of talks about deep digitality I have been exploring the concept of digital thinking. So far this has included at Limerick and Leicester in January and I will be giving another seminar on 10th 18th Feb in St Andrews.
I have also created a microsite about forms of digital thinking and will be adding to it over time.
Orkney Science Festival – talk on DD
Alan will be giving a talk on Deep Digitality at Orkney Science Festival, 11th Sept 2019
“Digital technologies like the PC, the internet and the mobile phone have opened up huge opportunities for Orkney communities in business and education and family contact. Could artificial intelligence or robotics have similar potential, even to reverse the concept of remoteness that developed out of the Industrial Revolution? And if so, asks Prof. Alan Dix of Swansea University, how can we make the most of it?”
