Many countries have accessibility legislation that requires those providing goods and services to ensure that they are available to those with physical, perceptual or cognitive impairments or differences. These legal requirements are important as failure to comply could lead to fines or products being withdrawn. However, this should be taken as a minimum level of accessability, both for ethical reasons and because accessible systems are typically more usable by everyone.
