spatial data

Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

The glossary is being gradually proof checked, but may have typos and misspellings.

Spatial data is where the data includes some form of two or three dimensional location or extent. Often this may be encoded as numerical coordinates, for example latitude–longitide. However, it may also use relative coordinates such as "10cm in front of the kitchen sink", or descriptive "inside the garage".
