Vibe coding is a form of AI assisted programming where the developer focuses on expressing the purpose, goals and examples to an AI chatbot assistant with the human developer assessing the results rather than focusing on understanding the code produced. This has very clear advantages for rapidly producing proof-of-concept prototypes, but is more controversial when used for deployable code.
