The EQUATOR IRC is focused on the interplay between the physical and digital worlds. Often this includes understanding the relationship between physical and virtual space: in location-aware mobile systems, in augmented reality, in ubiquitous sensing.

We are developing models and theories of space taking as starting point pre-existing work on space from Equator members and others (see bibliography) and also the understanding gained from experience projects.
