From entry extensional representation in glossary Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms
For a logical expression or database query the extensional representation is the collection of all values that satisfy the expression or are returned by the query. This is in contrast to the intensional representation, which is the formulae of the expression or the query expression in a notation such as SQL.
