Task inference is the process of working out what a human is doing in order to help. For example if the user has opened a file and resaved as PDF, then opens a second file, the system might recogise it is part of the same task sequence (task inference) and then use this knowledge yo offer to automate the rest of the task, maybe repeating it for all files in the folder.
