Human boredom is normally seen as a bad thing, but in fact it can be crucial for cogniton, meaning that we do not spend too much time on unfruitful approaches to solving a problem. This can be emulated in computer based problem solving alternating between different approaches when one is not yielding results, but may returnng later if other approacches are aldo unfruitful.
