Cameras are used in computer vision both in controlled enviornments, such as factory automation, and in the outside world, such as CCTV cameras in public spaces. Good quality video camers are now both small and relatively sheap enabling applications such as activity recognition for domestic applications and facial recognitin by the police. As cameras are now so ubiquitous and also may be unobtrusive, there are concerns regarding privacy and surveliance.
