The study and philosophy of consciousness is both complex and contenscious. Ideas of being conscious range from more behavioural questions such the ability to describe what you are thinking about, to ideas of models of self, to that bare awareness of being. The latter is often called the hard-problem of consciousness.
. These philoosophical questions and distinctions relate dircetly to issues about whether AI can ever be 'conscious' and/or about how to deliberatel create artiificial consciousness.
