Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

The glossary is being gradually proof checked, but currently has many typos and misspellings.

Antonio Damasio is a neuroscientist and philosopher of consciousness. His books include "Descartes Error"", which argues, inter alia, that the source of consciousness is knowledge of one's internal bodily state. Crucially, he challenges Descartes' separation of body and mind and argues that emotion and rationality are intimately linked. This is important for AI research as it suggests not only that artificial consciousness, if possible, depends on artificial emotion, but actually any true AI requires this too.
