The glossary is being gradually proof checked, but currently has many typos and misspellings.

A denial of service (DoS) s a form of cyberattack where large numbers of computers all try to access the same computer, often a web server, meaning that the server either crashes, or is so slow to respond that legitimate traffic cannot access it. Typically, the computers performing the atack are themselves machines that have been compromised through a computer virus.
