Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

The glossary is being gradually proof checked, but currently has many typos and misspellings.

Google search now uses many heuristics, but was founded on the PageRank algorithm. This algorithm meant that in the days when one was happy to find the desired result was on the first page of a search list, Google were confident enough that they had a "I'm feeling lucky"" button that took you straight to the top-ranked result. Note that the success of this was not in the finding of matching web pages, but in the ranking their potential importance.
