inductive learning

Terms from Artificial Intelligence: humans at the heart of algorithms

Inductive learning uses inductive reasoning to create new rules or facts that are stored for later use. Some symbolic AI systems would explicitly describe themselves as using inductive learning. In addition, all machine learning builds models based on training data and so is effectively a form of inductive learning.
