Natural language processing may be used in large-scale information management to allow better automated or semi-automated document management and access. At its simplest, understanding what a document means beyond keywords can mean that a documents that talks about "sausage dogs" would be picked up by a query "dachshund", but not "hot dog"! More complex forms can allow levels of reasoning in the document store.
