Pavlovian learning is when an animal learns to associate two stimuli so that after a period the first stimuli can be used to evoke the behvaiours that woudl normally be seen with the seocnd. The classic experiment by Ivan Pavlov rang a bell at the same time as presenting food to dogs; after a while the dogs would slivate at the sound of the bell even when there was no food.
