An AI suggestion is were the results of applying AI are used to create a putative decision or offer a list of alternatives that a human operator may choose to accept before they are acted upon.
In some cases the outputs of an AI need to be used for an immediate automatic action, for example, where AI is used to control the plasma in a fusion reactor. In such case the AI needs to be optimised to give the best possible answer. However, where the system includes a human in the loop, the AI should be optimised to create several potential answers with some form of confidence or weighting to enable roughly ranked lists of options.
