Continuous product development does not deliver a product as a series of widely spaced major versions, but instead continually adds features, fixes bugs or makes minor improvements. This is often faciitated by logging of post deployment use (with suitable user permissions) and close integration between the UX designers andfront end developers, who create systems, and various forms of post deployment help systems, bug tracking, and user forums. Effectively this means that the iterative design cycle continues post-deployment.
Continuous product development is virtually universal in web based systems as updates to the central web application code are instantly available to all users, a property known as continuous beta in Web2.0. However, almost all download applications now have means to deliver frequent updates. Continuous product development fits well with agile software development methods.
