The glossary is in progress.

Some forms of discrimination are personal, such as an individual making a racist comment on social media, some at an organisational level, such as promotion processes that favour one gender over another, but some are more about society as a whole, reflecting large-scale prejudice or historical treatment of groups of people. One example of societal discrimination in the UK is the way that societal norms mean that fewer girls study science subjects in school, leading to fewer computing graduates.
