Terms from Statistics for HCI: Making Sense of Quantitative Data

An indicator used on a graph or histogram to show the the variability of the average (the standard error of the mean). This gives some idea of the accuracy of the average measure. It is usually in the form of small 'T' shaped bars extending above and below the central point on the graph.
