ChatGPT is a chatbot based on OpenAI's large language models GPT-3 and GPT-4. Early experiences with ChatGPT transformed public and media perceptions of AI as it is able to produce text that is not only grammatically correct, but also appears to understand concepts. That is, it arguably passes the Turing test as it can be indistinguishable from human text-based chat. In additon, the ability to create good-enough student essays, news stories and even film-scripts has caused considerable concern about academic integrity, accuracy of news, and job security of creative professionals.
