ARDERSIER, parish on Moray Firth and Highland Railway, in north-east corner of Inverness-shire. It contains Fort-George and most of Campbelton village, and has a post office of its own name, with money order and telegraph departments, under Fort-George Station. Acres, 3824. Real property in 1880-81, 4424. Pop. 2086. The shore is flat and sandy, and the interior rises, with various character, to a border hill about 200 feet high. The churches are Established, Free, and United Presbyterian ; and there are 2 public schools with about 293 scholars.
