It was founded in 1770 ; it presents a neat appearance ; and it has a post office, with money order and telegraph departments, designated of Wigtonshire, a banking office, a well-sheltered small harbour, Free and United Presbyterian churches, and a public school with about 157 scholars. Pop. 742.
